about

Plotkin Road is the title track from Voltergeist's second EP on Microrave Records.

Influenced initially by the unique drone-guitar playing techniques of James Plotkin (OLD, Atomsmasher) and the grubby vibes of dubstep producers Benga and Burial, the tracks on the release are simultaneously downbeat and upbeat, inside, outside and to the left a bit, ooooh. Sick with joy, all over your face.

Plotkin Road (the first original Voltergeist release since 2008's "Earthen Spirit Loops" EP) develops the trademark V-Geist sound, fusing microscopic minimal clicks with ossiclewobbling dub basslines, and some of the wackiest tech drum programming of the genre.

about

Voltergeist is producer Shaun Dowse, who uses a MacBook Pro with an array of synthesizers and strange electronic gadgets, ... more live bass guitar and hand percussion (and occasionally saucepans) to produce twisted dub-techno music and remixes for established artists.

Shaun is currently working with ex-Ministry bass player Paul Barker, producing an original track to promote "FIX: The Ministry Movie". less
